SGA President - David Zapien

Hi, my name is Tiera Wright and I am your Student Body Vice President for 2006-2007! This is my third year in SGA, I first served as a Senator for the College of Education and have served on many committees including serving as Chairperson of the Bell Library and Elections committees and sitting on numerous other both inside and outside of Student Government before becoming VP.

I am from Beeville, Texas, a small town just north of Corpus Christi. I am also a President's Ambassador and volunteer at the Art Museum of South Texas. While David and I are in office we would like to see many new traditions set for future students and alumni to enjoy as well as build recognition for SGA and to continue to ensure that your voice, as a student, is heard.

When I was a freshman in college I knew that I wanted to get involved in leadership, after checking out several clubs I knew that I would enjoy helping students needs be met through action. I feel that Student Government is important because we are able to help students in many ways that most are not aware of from appealing parking tickets to an open door to come share concerns with.
